Our next project was to design a handheld tool in a different, more ergonomic way. I was given the handheld sander- a cruical tool for any serious DIY fanatic. I undertook ergonomic research looking at average hand size, variation in grip of a users hand, and how vibration affects the hand. I designed a sander which gives the user options on how it can be held during use. I also added gell padding in order to reduce the strength of the vibrations that reach hand.
